Calgary's Plus 15 Network - +15 Skyway

In the city of Calgary it is very easy to walk in the downtown area during the months of intense cold or if you do not want to walk the streets, as there is a network of tunnels between the most important buildings called "Plus 15"

The Plus 15 network or +15 Skyway in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, is the longest pedestrian walkway system in the world, with a total length of 18 kilometres (about 11 miles) and 62 bridges. The system is so named because the skywalks are approximately 15 feet (approximately 4.5 meters) above street level.

Opened in 1970, the plus15 network has expanded to include more than 59 heated bridges connecting dozens of downtown Calgary office buildings. The central core of the system is a series of closed shopping malls and the city's department stores like "The Bay" and "Holt Renfrew."
